Metering with a wheel-driven pump

Metering on the MANKAR-GP models takes place by means of a pump, which is driven by the spraying system wheel. Therefore, it is dependent on the distance travelled (path-dependent) and not on the speed of the forward motion. With every turn of the wheel, a defined volume of herbicide is released. In this manner, the output volume can be precisely metered per unit of surface area (litre per ha).

The result: an optimal distribution of the active substance onto the surface being treated.

This method of metering is deployed primarily in large areas of cultivation with distances between rows of 50 to 110 cm. Path-dependent metering may also make sense for very long pathways or for larger areas with water-bound surfaces, if a relatively uniform weed problem is present.

MANKAR-GP models are very nicely suited to rough surfaces such as might be found in Christmas tree nurseries due to their larger wheels (560 mm, similar to a bicycle). Large scale roughness and deep, soft ground can be overcome with little effort thanks to the large, all-terrain wheel.

  • This large wheel model has a metal spray hood, which is sturdier than the plastic spray hoods.
  • Flexible spray hood side elements fold back automatically upon contact with obstacles (e.g. tree trunks) and then swing subsequently back into place.
  • Due to this mechanism, the spray width varies between 30 and 50 cm.
  • For this reason, it is suited to tree nursery cultivations with narrow distances between rows, for example, which may be located on rough terrain and / or on deep, soft ground.
