Feijoa

Feijoa

  • Growing the Feijoa
  • You can grow the feijoa by using parts of a grown plant or by using seeds.
The first method has to be applied in October-December with the help of growing stimulant for 16-18 hours. The temperature has to be 26-28˚С and the air humidity has to be very high (90-100%). Extra light is needed.
The best time for the seed growing is in February. You have to use cups and mini conservatories.
When the plant comes into leaf it has a branched crown. It’s not recommended to prune it because the blossoms and the fruits are developed on the branches in the running year. You just have to pinch the young plants when they reach 20sm height.
The feijoa will grow fast enough and that’s why you have to replant it yearly.
